Central Air Temple

Situated in the mountains about fifty miles away from an Earth Kingdom Base. The Central Air Temple is partly underground. Most of it is built in the traditional fashion like the other Temples, but there is a secret area underground that can only be accessed through a special door known as the Four Nations Door. Only a fully realized Avatar can open the door single-handedly, otherwise, it requires an Airbender, Waterbender, Earthbender, and Firebender to work together—this door was designed by Shyu's father. Thanks to their Earthbending allies, the Temple is completely inaccessible without passing through this door or having a Sky Bison. Secret tunnels placed throughout the Earth Kingdom lead to the door. Once through the door, there's a tunnel leading up to the temple. There are secret tunnels in Omashu and Ba Sing Se, as well as many random uninhabited areas that travelers might occasionally pass by. One tunnel goes straight through the ocean to Kyoshi Island, although nobody from the village knows of its existence.

Several Water, Earth, and Firebenders also live here, or at least visit often.
